Cannabis Warnings:
- “For use only by adults 21 and older. Keep out of reach of children.”
- “Do not drive a motor vehicle or operate machinery while under the influence of cannabis.”
- Using cannabis can lead to other adverse health effects, including changes in mood, memory problems, a faster heart rate, and an increased risk of addiction, especially for people under 25 whose brains are still developing.
- Do Not use if Pregnant or Breast Feeding
- Heavy, long-term cannabis use can cause cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS), which leads to severe nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
- The effects of edibles can take two hours or more to appear. The Cannabis Control Division recommends new users start with a low dose and wait to gauge their tolerance to avoid becoming overly intoxicated.
- Edible cannabis products pose a significant risk of accidental ingestion by children and pets. This has led to a documented increase in poison center calls and hospital visits. If a child consumes cannabis, call the Poison Control hotline at 1-800-222-1222 or 911 for severe reactions.
